My name is France-Emmanuelle, but I go by France, and I am French. My daughter is always telling me, Mom, you’re name is a joke!

Anyway, I am not here to talk to you about my name; I am here to talk about an issue I have had since I was a teenager, and 80% of the people experiencing periods every month have. I want to talk about the fact that 40% of the global population suffers at a very young age from Pre-Menstrual Syndroms (PMS), Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD), cramps, mood swings, acne, migraines, and bloating every month for 30-40 years and that we don't seem to have enough solutions to help us. I want to talk about the fact that even practitioners don’t know how we can live better with our periods. Still, in 2024, people with periods have to face debilitating pain every month, miss opportunities, days of school, and days of work, wishing for the pain to go away.

I‘ve been there and am still on that journey. I started to talk about it in my circles and realized that we usually don’t talk about it, that we can’t complain about it, and that it is normal to suffer during our periods.

But I realized recently that, no, it isn’t normal to suffer every month and that the pain is a signal that something is wrong and we should do something about it. And, in fact, you can do something about it. So, I did something about it. I started to educate myself through reading (I love to read!), and I started to look for solutions that would suit my lifestyle and improve my experience of life. In this journey, I realized that I don’t have to suffer through life; I realized that this is a story that we’ve been told, and it is not true. In this journey, I discover wonderful women active in the field with solutions for improving our overall health, hence our experience with our periods. I learned that our period is actually a superpower that speaks to us about our physical and mental health. I learned that my period can be my best friend if I want to have a healthy pregnancy and a healthy life. If only I started listening. And I started thinking, what if I could empower my period to change my life?

Who am I? I am identifying myself as a women cis-genre. I am a biotech entrepreneur and a mom of 2, and I have a very active life. Since I was 11, I’ve been struggling with my period. I had very intense pain every month with PMS, 2 weeks before my period; I wasn’t myself for half a month every month, with very intense cramps and migraines that put me into bed for several days. And I am a lucky one compared to what other humans with periods are going through.

As an entrepreneur, I learned that we can act and be in a different way we have been raised to be, that we always have a choice and that there is always an opportunity to grow. Also, everything is questionable, even though we are doing this as a society for so long.

So, here I am, starting this newsletter to take you with me on this journey of remembrance of our beautiful nature and embracing it. I want to share with you my breakthroughs and my learnings to increase the level of awareness of all of us here! As knowledge is power, it is time to reclaim the power lost a long time ago, reclaim our time, and reclaim the control of our lives.
